The Subscription view (xcsh.subscription) provides visibility into your F5 Distributed Cloud (XC) tenant subscription tier, resource quota allocations, and active add-on capabilities.
Subscription Tree View
Section titled “Subscription Tree View”When you connect and activate a valid profile, the Subscription panel appears in the F5 Distributed Cloud view container. The tree structure breaks down:
- Active Plan: Displays your tenant’s subscription tier (such as Enterprise, Standard, or Free Tier), renewal dates, and billing status.
- Resource Quotas: Displays real-time allocation limits and consumption counts for resources such as HTTP Load Balancers, Origin Pools, Namespaces, App Firewalls, and DNS Zones.
- Add-On Subscriptions: Lists optional platform capabilities (such as Advanced Bot Defense, DDoS Mitigation, and API Security).
Plan Details Dashboard
Section titled “Plan Details Dashboard”To view detailed subscription specifications:
- In the Subscription view, select the View Plan action icon, or run
xcsh.showPlanfrom the Command Palette. - The extension renders a subscription overview webview detailing:
- Account tier and licensed entitlements
- Base service limits
- Provisioning history and contract terms
Quota Tracking and Utilization
Section titled “Quota Tracking and Utilization”Before deploying new services across your tenant, verify that your namespace has sufficient quota capacity:
- In the Subscription view, select View Quotas (or run
xcsh.showQuotas). - The quota dashboard visualizes usage percentages against allocated maximums:
+-------------------------------------------------------------------------+| HTTP Load Balancers [====================>..........] 24 / 35 (68%) || Origin Pools [============>..................] 18 / 50 (36%) || App Firewalls [==============================>] 10 / 10 (100%) || Namespaces [========>......................] 4 / 15 (26%) |+-------------------------------------------------------------------------+When quota utilization approaches threshold limits, the dashboard highlights the constraint to prevent deployment rejections.
Add-On Management
Section titled “Add-On Management”To evaluate or enable additional security and networking modules:
- Right-click an inactive add-on listed in the Subscription view and select Activate Add-on (or run
xcsh.activateAddon). - The extension initiates the activation request with the tenant management API and refreshes your entitlement status upon completion.
